St. Charles County Council approves CDBG, university and sheriff‑fee ordinances and introduces five new bills

At its Jan. 12 meeting the St. Charles County Council approved multiple ordinances on final passage and introduced several new bills for future consideration.

On final passage the council approved Bill 5452, authorizing a 2025 subrecipient agreement under the Urban County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program between St. Charles County and the City of Saint Peters. The council also approved Bill 5453, an intergovernmental agreement with the curators of the University of Missouri for services through the Center for Applied Research and Engagement Systems, and Bill 5454, which amends the county ordinances to establish a revised civil process fee schedule for the St. Charles County Sheriff's Department. Each bill passed on roll call at the meeting.

The council introduced five bills for consideration: Bill 5456 (rezoning RZ25‑12 from agricultural with floodway fringe overlay to riverfront district with floodway fringe overlay), Bill 5457 (an amendment to Ordinance 03‑157 to authorize conditional use permit C598 for underground limestone mining to New Frontier Materials Operations Alpha LLC), Bill 5458 (a supplemental agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for the Hopewell Road project), Bill 5459 (a supplemental agreement for the Meyer Road project), and Bill 5460 (an intergovernmental joint funding agreement with the U.S. Geological Survey for Darden Creek stream gauges in St. Charles County).

Council approved the consent agenda in a single voice vote before taking the final‑passage votes; no items were removed from consent during the meeting.
