Levy Court appoints Ethan Simpson to Board of Adjustment, introduces FY26 EMS budget amendment

The Kent County Levy Court on Jan. 13 appointed Ethan Simpson to the Board of Adjustment to replace Charlie Jones. Commissioner Hertz recommended Simpson; a motion and second were made and the roll call vote approved the appointment 7-0.

Later in the meeting Commissioner Pepper introduced ordinance LC 26-02, a fiscal year 2026 budget amendment to amend ordinance 25-11 (the FY26 annual operating budget) to incorporate projected expenditures not included in the originally adopted budget for EMS emergency medical services staffing and full-time EMS employees. The ordinance was introduced for first reading; a public hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026 at 7 p.m.
