Board approves county-tile tie-in request from local excavator

The Delaware County Drainage Board approved a request from a contractor to tie a private tile into county tile No. 266 after staff inspection and a favorable recommendation from the surveyor.

Surveyor (Speaker 7) told the board that Andrew Schwinn of McLean Brothers (identified in the transcript as the contractor) contacted drainage staff seeking approval to tie into county tile No. 266 west of the interstate. The surveyor inspected the outlet and reported the tile is flowing and in good condition, and recommended approval.

Andrew Schwinn introduced himself to the board and said the work involves about 35 acres for a landowner; he added the outlet was flowing well beneath the interstate. Following discussion, a board member moved to approve the tie-in and another seconded; the motion passed on roll call.

The board asked that contractors be reminded to provide required paperwork (W-9, insurance, equipment lists) when bidding drainage work; staff confirmed those documents were on file for the contractor who introduced himself earlier in the meeting.
