The City Planning Commission moved through routine business and governance items before taking up a contested zoning case. Commissioners approved the absence of Commissioner Teichelman for Dec. 10, approved the minutes from the Dec. 10 meeting, elected Michael Munoz as vice chair, and voted to publish the 2025 annual board report so it can be posted on the City Secretary’s website.
The commission approved consent agenda items 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 after staff presented plats and replats that, staff said, meet the Unified Development Code and relevant sections of the Texas Local Government Code. The chair opened and closed the public comment period for consent items with no additional speakers recorded.
In director’s remarks, staff welcomed two new commissioners, Michael Espadiza and Jason Jackson, and said an orientation on zoning and platting will be scheduled. With no further business, the commission adjourned.
Actions taken were procedural and ministerial; no budget appropriations or regulatory changes were adopted at this meeting. The more substantive zoning debate (case ZN8771) generated the meeting’s main policy discussion and was addressed separately.
