Atascadero — The City Council on Jan. 12 approved the fiscal year 2024–25 Annual Road Report for Measure F14 and authorized distribution of a community brochure summarizing pavement work and planned 2026 projects.
Deputy Administrative Services Director Cindy Chavez presented financial results: total sales tax revenue for July 2024–June 2025 was a little under $3.3 million, and interest income was reported in the staff presentation. Public works staff summarized that Measure F14 has delivered more than 50 centerline miles of paving, representing 39% of city‑maintained roads (about 150 miles total), and more than 80 neighborhood segments have been repaired under the program.
Public works representatives explained that some surface‑treatment projects allocated to fiscal 2025 were delayed into a larger consolidated project to achieve economies of scale; that is why some resurfacing mileage did not appear in the 2025 brochure totals. The Citizens’ Sales Tax Oversight Committee (C‑Stock) reviewed the report on Dec. 10, 2025 and recommended council approval.
In public comment, Jeff Auslin praised the program and noted that periodic project carryovers account for apparent revenue‑expenditure timing differences in the report. Council member Funk moved, and Council member Newsome seconded, approval of the report and brochure distribution. The motion passed 4–0 with Council member Peake absent.
Staff will distribute the brochure summarizing past repairs and planned 2026 work and continue to coordinate project scheduling to maximize cost efficiencies.
