WICKLIFFE, Ohio — Finance Director Metis told the City Council on Jan. 12 that the City’s unencumbered general fund cash balance was about $8,600,000 at year-end.
Metis said payroll remains the administration’s top priority during the current payroll week and noted the city started a new staff member with payroll experience that day. The finance director said staff will continue closing year-end items and preparing reports for council review.
Separately, Council President announced a committee of the whole meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 20 to discuss a street dedication for Old School Way, followed by a finance committee meeting at 6:00 p.m. to discuss the 2026 budget.
Council members asked procedural and staffing questions during reports; Finance Director Metis confirmed the ordinance later in the meeting that will formalize the hiring of an assistant finance director. No additional budget line items or dollar-by-dollar changes were presented in the Jan. 12 meeting minutes contained in the transcript.
