Council previews resolution to delineate city parkland

City staff showed council a map identifying park properties and said a resolution will follow to formalize which parcels are designated as parkland.

Staff explained that many parks are not officially platted or deed-restricted and that the resolution intends to clarify which properties are designated as parkland so the charter-required process (park board consultation before sale/disposal) can be followed consistently. Staff said Wallace Park and a few others had been platted previously and the new map fills gaps. The map will be shared with the park board ahead of the resolution and staff suggested posting the map and resolution on the city website.

Council members supported the clarity effort and discussed updating the resolution if new parks are added in the future.
