Bow Select Board authorizes letter seeking clarifications from county Community Power administrator

The motion and accompanying discussion made clear the authorized letter is not a formal withdrawal; instead, the board said it needs answers before deciding whether to pursue withdrawal.

Several board members said they felt misled by Community Power’s earlier representation about savings and risk; one member asked that the record reflect the board’s disappointment and requested a prompt response from the county administrator.

The staff‑drafted letter asks for precise cost/savings data and for a description of any penalties, termination provisions, and obligations that would attach to a departing municipality. The board authorized sending the letter and asked staff to provide any county response to the board at a future meeting.
