Multiple Denison organizations reported program updates to the CVB advisory board, highlighting events, marketing and facilities work for 2026.
Jordan, the tourism director, said the Progressive Dinner is scheduled for March 28 with participating restaurants and bars tentatively including Lettuce and Dolge, George Tavern, Ivanhoe, Homestead, Double D Egg Company and Emily's Kitchen. The event will pair multiple businesses to provide portions of a multi-course meal, Jordan said, with tickets initially capped at 50 and a planned ticket price near $60.
Jordan also said the office has tourism apps and printed materials ready, is updating the Discovery Denison and Downtown Denison websites with an August launch targeted, and is finishing selection for Sister Cities student participants (23 applications narrowed to nine; six will be chosen to go to France).
Donna Dowell, Main Street director, said the downtown directory is at the printer, Dott Holiday is set for April 25, and the Bandits Bluegrass & Barbeque event is set for April 24; she said streetscape work should be cleared from Main Street in roughly three months.
The Arts Council said it expects a Cultural Arts District designation soon, is pursuing the North Texas Arts Festival at KD Depot, and confirmed the Railroad Museum must vacate its current space this month and that council resources are being used to help identify relocation options.
Brandy from the Lake Texoma Association said the organization hired a marketing intern, is rebranding and finalizing the 2026 guide and a new map, and continues to produce the Lake Texoma Boat Show and Outdoor Expo in April at the Choctaw Event Center.
The Eisenhower Birthplace State Historical Site representative said the site will host a traveling "Liberators" exhibit during Holocaust Remembrance Week and will partner with the Denison public library and other sites so visitors can see complementary panels at multiple locations.
A representative of the Perrin Air Force Base Museum said the museum is coordinating a blood drive on Feb. 2 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the museum parking lot and will have the museum open for donors.
The meeting closed after the scheduled presentations; the presiding official adjourned the session at 3:13 p.m.
