Kenner — During its January 2026 meeting, the Kenner City Council approved its consent agenda and cleared a slate of routine contracts, purchases and appointments.
The consent agenda, moved by Council member Lahat and seconded by Council member Brennan, passed unanimously (7–0). Items included minutes approval for the Dec. 19, 2025 meeting and alcohol permit resolutions for Friends of Rivertown and Kenner Italian Heritage events at Rivertown venues and Kenner City Park.
On the agenda under contracts and acceptances, the council approved multiple items by voice roll calls or motions with recorded results in the minutes. Highlights included: authorization to purchase replacement parts for the Zayas Star Master projector at $17,325.04; an order for honor guard uniforms (not to exceed $30,000) for the Kenner Police Department; a change order increasing an engineering agreement by $236,000 (new not-to-exceed $1,096,000, extended through 06/30/2027) related to CWSRF loan administration; acceptance of the lowest responsive bid of $612,766 from Louisiana Contracting Enterprise LLC for the 25th and Helena Lift Station project; and a $6,417.60 quote acceptance to repair a motor at a wastewater facility.
The council also approved three reappointments to the Planning and Zoning Commission: Mark Johnson, Peggy Mendoza and Rita Bizzo (each motion passed 7–0).
