The Concord City Council on Jan. 12 approved a set of ordinances and resolutions including a zoning-map amendment, infrastructure appropriations and several reserve transfers.
Key votes and outcomes
- Zoning map and overlay changes (item 28): Council moved and seconded the ordinance and voted in favor; the motion passed by voice vote.
- Water main replacement appropriation (item 29): The council approved a $100,000 appropriation to fund the city’s portion of water-distribution improvements connected to the New Hampshire Department of Transportation’s rehabilitation project. The city manager said bids exceeded engineer estimates and the supplemental appropriation was needed to accept the low bid that includes the city work.
- Concord Public Library donations (item 30): Council accepted $18,500 in donations from the Concord Public Library Foundation to support library services; the resolution passed.
- Transfers to reserves and small appropriations (items 32–33): Council approved a $2,050,000 transfer to reserves from FY25 assigned fund balance (item 32) and a $46,000 appropriation for furniture, overtime and training (item 33).
- Referral (Attorney General Office communication): The council referred an Attorney General Office communication regarding review of DEI-related contract provisions to the GEIJP Committee and the legal department.
Several items were opened for public hearing with no testimony; others drew public comment and council discussion before final votes. The council adjourned after referring the AG communication and completing its agenda.
