The commission approved two contract actions on its agenda:
1) Accept final work performed by Mitchell Engineering on the AWSS Clarendon Supply 2019 project (contract WD2861AWW). Construction management staff reported modification #7 increases the contract amount by $44,352 (within contingency) and requests an additional 131 days; the final contract amount was reported as $2,784,504 with a total contract duration of 1,620 calendar days. Commissioners asked whether the dollar increase was within contingency and staff confirmed that the increase was already approved as part of contingency; the commission moved, seconded and voted unanimously to accept the work and approve the modification.
2) Approve an increase of 188 calendar days to the duration contingency for contract WD2840 (Southern Skyline Boulevard Ridge Trail Extension with Gordon N. Ball Incorporated). Project manager Mary Tinkin said the extension responds to adverse weather, signage-package delays, and late hydroseeding; the original notice to proceed was January 2024 and the contract award amount listed in materials was quoted in the presentation. The commission approved the motion by unanimous roll call.
Both items passed by unanimous vote.
