County approves Lucky Acres subdivision amendment to add retention basin and trail easements

Diana (transcript also shows 'Deanna') Nyberg of Community Development presented a recorded‑subdivision amendment for Lucky Acres, located near 1353 South 1500 West in Vernal. The amendment changes three parcels in the subdivision to add a retention‑basin easement on Lot 23A and canal/trail easements on Lots 23A–25A; the canal already exists and the trail will run above it.

Nyberg explained that the retention basin had previously been located under the road, and the developer redesigned the collection system; the road department’s Scott Hardman reviewed the plans, raised concerns that were addressed by the engineer, and has signed off on the amendment.

Commissioners commended the trail vision and moved to approve the subdivision amendment; the vote carried by recorded 'Aye' responses.

Next steps: community development staff will record the amended plat, and the county will coordinate trail development with the road department and developer as necessary.
