Commission approves three third‑reading ordinances including rezoning and a right‑of‑way vacation

Johnson City commissioners approved three ordinances on third reading at their Jan. 8 meeting.

Staff presented ordinance 49-32-25, rezoning 4.81 acres at 2121 Seminole Drive from R-2 to R-2C; staff recommended approval and reported no changes since prior readings. A motion to approve carried on a roll-call vote.

The commission also approved ordinance 49-33-25, rezoning 2.06 acres at 2600 Peoples Street from R-3 to MS-1; staff said there were no changes and recommended passage on third reading. That motion carried on a roll-call vote.

Finally, the commission approved ordinance 49-34-25 to abandon 0.27 acres of public right-of-way at 2832 West Walnut Street. Staff again reported no changes and commissioners approved the ordinance on third reading by roll call.

All three ordinances passed without recorded dissent during the meeting; staff will implement the changes according to standard municipal processes.
