Work session actions: delegates, agenda additions and personnel appointments moved to Wednesday

The council took multiple procedural actions during the work session and moved several items to the Wednesday council meeting for formal consideration.

Delegates and alternates: Motions carried to advance approvals for delegates to the Cobb Municipal Association (two delegates moved forward and placed on consent), to appoint a GMA voting delegate and alternate (motion carried), and to appoint a National League of Cities delegate and alternate.

Consent and agenda additions: Council suspended rules to add multiple denial‑of‑claim items to the Wednesday agenda; some of those items were then placed on consent while others drew objections.

Personnel actions: After an executive session, Councilman Goldstein moved to forward to the Wednesday agenda a recommendation to appoint Ben Smith as prosecuting attorney; that motion was recorded as carrying 6–1. Council also added an item to the Wednesday agenda to consider creating a chief assistant/chief assistant prosecutor position (later amended to name Courtney Brubaker) and advanced that item for Wednesday consideration.

Other motions: A motion to move the Board of Lights & Water item onto consent was recorded, and staff were directed to move the annual comprehensive financial report to Wednesday to "receive and file." The Laurel Park Tennis Center second modification agreement (Tennis Dynamics) was recommended to be moved forward to Wednesday recommending approval.

What happens next: Most items were advanced to the full council Wednesday agenda; formal votes and any final appointments will occur during that meeting.
