Resident urges transparency on weed-and-grass enforcement and public-records response

During the public-comment portion of the meeting, resident Ralph Spellbring asked the council for records detailing violations of the city's weed-and-grass height ordinance for the first six months of 2024. He said his public-records request produced mixed responses from the city's legal department and that code-enforcement follow-up had not been provided. Spellbring urged the city to disclose the information requested and said the Public Access Counselor may be evaluating the issue.

Spellbring also shared a local historical anecdote about high-school sports and noted recent regional weather trends. The council did not respond directly during the meeting to Spellbring's legal-department criticisms.
