Philomath council confirms multiple volunteer appointments, re-advertises several vacancies

Philomath — At its Jan. 12 meeting the City Council confirmed a series of appointments to advisory boards and committees and directed staff to re‑advertise several vacancies.

The council confirmed the mayor’s slate of standing‑committee representatives by motion. Planning Commission appointments approved were Mike Christosic (four‑year term to Dec. 31, 2029) and Scott Ramsey (one‑year term to Dec. 31, 2026). The Budget Review Committee appointments of Mike Christosic and Cody Valencia for three‑year terms to Dec. 31, 2028 were also approved. Council unanimously reappointed Gianna Bernardini to the Tree Advisory Board and appointed Candy Garcia to the reformed ad hoc Public Art Committee (term to 2027).

For the Inclusivity (equity) ad hoc committee, council appointed Megan Erwin and Albus Satterlund to two‑year terms and directed staff to re‑advertise the remaining vacancies. Councilors expressed appreciation for volunteers and noted several vacancies with no applicants (Park Advisory Board and Heritage Tree Program committee), directing staff to repost those openings until filled.

All appointment motions were adopted by voice/hand vote with unanimous support. Council and staff encouraged eligible community members to apply and said staff will follow up with incumbents who reported late notification.
