Local filmmaker seeks permission to shoot a short film at county jail parking lot

David Gentry said his company, Door Number 3 Films LLC, is shooting a short film titled Messiah and requested permission to film a single scene at the Chilton County Jail parking lot on Jan. 31 at about 6 a.m. The scene is brief (several shots, about a three-hour setup) featuring an actor exiting the jail and being picked up. Gentry said he had coordinated with the county attorney and the sheriff, and that the sheriff was "totally on board" with the plan. Commissioners asked no follow-up questions and wished him luck.

No formal permit vote or conditions were recorded at the work session; staff said the sheriff had approved the arrangement.
