Chilton County commission approves consent agenda including hires, wage adjustments and CDBG hearing

The Chilton County Commission approved its consent agenda unanimously, clearing a package of routine administrative and financial items.

Items recorded in the consent agenda included approval of minutes and claims, a sheriff’s office new hire (Judson Etheridge), reclassification and wage adjustments for staff including Joshua Glass and Mickey Hardwick, and wage adjustments for revenue office employees Angela Fulmer, Michelle Headley and Kyle Dennis. The commission approved moving $150,000 from excess bid funds into a T-bill and directed the jail maintenance checking account be moved from Aaron Bank to First Alabama to comply with an interest-bearing requirement. The board also approved reallocating unbudgeted opioid funds to T-bills until the funds are budgeted, and approved various contract renewals and job description updates for transit positions.

The commission scheduled public hearings related to a CDBG grant amendment for Jan. 27; times were listed for two hearings (06:35 and 06:40) to address the grant and to close out the CDBG grant. Other consent items recorded included acceptance of the fiscal-year 2025 County Rebuild Alabama annual report and authorizing execution documents for a lease purchase agreement with Trustmark Bank.

All consent items passed by voice/hand vote with no recorded opposition during the meeting. The commission did not elaborate on implementation timelines for most consent items during the session.
