Iroquois County approves multiple bridge agreements and petitions for county aid

The Iroquois County Highway committee approved multiple bridge plan agreements and petitions for county aid during its Jan. 8 session, taking action on Hutchinson Engineering and Willard Hoffman projects and several county-aid requests.

County Engineer Allen Harwood presented contract and plan agreements for multiple townships: an $87,794 Hutchinson Engineering bridge plan agreement for Artesia Township, a $72,750 agreement for Mud Creek, and Willard Hoffman and Associates agreements for Stockton and Stockland townships (amounts listed in committee reports). The committee approved each agreement by roll call.

Committee members also approved several petitions for county aid, including a petition identified as SN 038-4927 requesting $1,300,000, and additional petitions for amounts ranging from $35,000 to $450,000 for various townships. Each petition was moved, seconded and approved by roll call votes.

What happens next: Approved agreements and petitions proceed to county-level authorization and implementation by the county highway department; the committee also noted scheduling for county bridge inspections and related training.
