Jasper County Transportation Committee retains current chair, approves minutes

The Jasper County Transportation Committee voted to keep the current chair in place and approved last month’s meeting minutes during a routine session. The nomination to retain the chair was made from the floor and seconded; the chair then called for a voice vote and the motion passed by voice.

The action began when an unidentified committee member nominated that the chairman remain in his position and that other officers remain as well. The motion was seconded (the transcript references “Miss Brandon” as the second). The chair asked for all in favor to say “aye,” and at least one affirmative “Aye” was recorded.

Following that procedural vote, the chair presented the minutes of the prior meeting and asked for a motion to approve. An unidentified member moved and another seconded, and the committee approved the minutes by voice vote after the chair again called for “aye.”

There were no public comments signed up for the meeting, and the committee then proceeded to old business.
