Central Parish Council keeps incumbent chair; Pam Alonzo named vice chair

The Central Parish Council opened its Jan. 8, 2026 meeting by confirming its chair and electing Pam Alonzo as vice chair.

The chair opened nominations for council leadership and, with no competing nominations for chair, stated, “I will retain chair.” Pam Alonzo was nominated and confirmed as vice chair; the council paused briefly for a group photograph. The chair thanked members for their service.

Those leadership actions were procedural and uncontroversial; the council then moved on to the parish president’s report and the evening’s agenda items. The meeting record shows no recorded roll-call vote for the chair retention and the vice chair nomination was handled by voice consent and recognition by the chair.
