The Glendale Heights Village Board on Jan. 8 approved its consent agenda, adopted four ordinances and held a first reading of a zoning amendment and conditional-use request for an adult cannabis infuser facility.
Trustee Schmidt moved to adopt the consent agenda, which Village Administrator Doug Flint read aloud and which included minutes, payrolls and accounts payable through Jan. 8, 2026. Flint listed a total amount for payrolls and payables of $5,886,236.10. The motion was seconded and passed by roll call.
The board then voted to waive first readings on new-business items 2 through 5 and took action on those items. The board adopted Ordinance 2026-01 to waive bidding and accept Lane Christensen Company's proposal to repair and rehabilitate Well Number 12 and to authorize execution of a related contract. The board adopted Ordinance 2026-02 to renew a live-entertainment permit for Schnitzel Plots at 729 North Avenue; Ordinance 2026-03 to renew a live-entertainment permit for Jack's Pub & Grill at 338 East Army Trail Road (with staff reporting no outstanding issues that would prevent live entertainment); and Ordinance 2026-04 to renew a live-entertainment permit for Kronos restaurant at 2260 Bloomingdale Road. Each ordinance was moved, seconded and approved by roll call.
On a separate matter, the board held a first reading of an ordinance to amend section 11-5-7 of the village code concerning off-street parking and a conditional-use request for an adult cannabis infuser facility at 600 Wall Street (Highgrove Center of DuPage, West Campus). That item was listed as first reading from the Dec. 11 Committee of the Whole and no final action was taken at the Jan. 8 meeting.
The meeting closed after a brief public-comment period with no speakers on agenda items and a motion to adjourn.
Next steps: the conditional-use and zoning amendment will return for further consideration at a later meeting; adopted ordinances become effective according to their posted terms and the village's administrative rules.
