At the Jan. 7 meeting, the district treasurer presented the FY27 tax‑budget outlook using Greene County estimates and Ohio law governing tax budgets.
Key figures cited: about $25.7 million expected from general‑fund levies and roughly $3.1 million from an emergency levy for a total near $29 million in direct property tax receipts; bond retirement receipts were estimated at about $2.5 million and the PI levy was expected to generate about $0.9 million, producing roughly $32.5 million in property‑tax receipts overall for fiscal year 2027. The treasurer explained the numbers cover the district fiscal year July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, and warned that a Greene County reappraisal year and state limits on inside millage tied to inflation make revenue projections uncertain.
The board heard that although voters approved about $68 million in millage historically, the district typically collects roughly half of that in actual receipts because multiple levies are layered and some are subject to statutory limits. The treasurer recommended staying attentive to reappraisal and legislative changes and answered brief clarifying questions from trustees.
No action to submit a tax budget was required this year because the Greene County budget commission waived the requirement, but the board received the informational briefing as part of routine fiscal planning.
