The Ellettsville–Richland Reorganization Committee voted to register a project domain and discussed plans for a website, postcard outreach and a work session to set subcommittee objectives.
A committee member said they had already claimed the domain and proposed using the name ellettsvillerichlandinfo.org for the project website; the committee moved and approved that domain by roll call. Members discussed two website quotes and a proposed contractor who could build and host the site quickly; committee members asked staff to circulate the contract and include the website on the next meeting agenda.
Committee members and staff also discussed a postcard or informational mailer to inform county residents about the reorganization effort and upcoming meetings. Staff said the content and layout must be decided before mailing; the group agreed to include a mission statement, meeting dates through April or May, a QR code and a plain-text URL for residents without smartphones. Several members urged broader outreach via chamber newsletters, Facebook neighborhood groups and public-service announcements. The committee asked the PR team to prepare mockups and said it would wait to mail until the website URL is live or at least claimed.
The committee confirmed the procedural requirement to post notices at least 48 hours in advance and assigned staff (speaker 6) to publish the next work-session notice for the following Tuesday. The website domain approval passed by unanimous roll call; the committee directed staff to circulate the contract and finalize language for postcards ahead of the next meeting.
