Lake Forest Park’s City Council completed its annual organizational business at the Jan. 8 regular meeting, electing leadership and confirming committee and regional liaison appointments.
Councilmember Frittani was nominated and elected deputy mayor after a voice vote; the mayor then handed the gavel to Frittani to conduct the remainder of the organizational items. Councilmember Goldman was nominated and elected council vice chair by voice vote.
The council also named leadership for the Budget and Finance Committee: Councilmember Riddle was confirmed as chair and Councilmember Goode as vice chair. Additional members named to the committee include Councilmember Muhlenberg and Councilwoman Wheeler Burke.
Councilmembers were assigned as voting members or alternates to several regional bodies. The mayor and Vice Chair Goldman were designated for the Sound Cities Association Public Issues Committee, local representatives were named to the Seashore Transportation body, and other liaisons were confirmed for the McAleer Creek Watershed Forum and WRIA 8 advisory board. A few liaison appointments were deferred to the next meeting to resolve scheduling.
The reorganizational votes were taken by voice and recorded as passed by the council during the meeting. The council’s mayor highlighted the importance of volunteer service and said the appointments position the city to continue regional collaboration in 2026.
