The Director of Schools presented the district's annual report to the Wilson County Education Committee, saying the district achieved its highest academic results in history.
The Director cited multiple metrics for the 2024–25 school year (as presented in the meeting packet): 57% of students exceeded expectations in math on state testing, a 73% pass rate on Advanced Placement exams, an 83% pass rate for industry credentials and a 97.6% graduation rate. The Director said the district saw an increase in "level 5" schools and noted 15 award schools for 24–25 compared with six the previous year.
Committee members asked questions about the data and were invited to review the full packet. The Director said post-secondary and work-readiness measures were improving and that the district planned to continue efforts to support both college- and career-ready outcomes.
A motion to approve the Director's report was made by the Director of Schools and seconded by a committee member. The committee voted verbally in favor and approved the report.
Next steps: The Director offered to answer follow-up questions and encouraged committee members to contact her for details in the packet.
