During public comment Mavis Dillon, representing the Chamber of Commerce, announced local events and organizational developments.
Dillon said the Reedsville Area Foundation will meet at the recreation department (11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.), a countywide coffee will be held next Wednesday at RCC Workforce Development Center at 8 a.m., and a countywide after-hours event is scheduled for Feb. 22 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. She also announced a downtown chili cook-off on April 14 from noon to 2 p.m. in Mount March and the Chamber's annual membership dinner on April 16 at White Oak Terrace.
Dillon said the Chamber has finalized nonprofit paperwork for "Western Rockingham Alliance Inc." under the WRCC umbrella, and noted the chamber's 501(c)(6) status limits its ability to pursue grants. She invited board members and residents to participate in upcoming events.
