Kitty Care sign-color variance approved for small daycare at 3600 Main Street

The Hilliard Cleaning Zoning Commission on Jan. 8 approved a variance for Kitty Care at 3600 Main Street to allow a sign with more than four colors. Staff reported the proposed sign is 16.28 square feet — well under the roughly 63-square-foot allowance by tenant frontage — and concluded the variance is not substantial.

Staff (speaker 12) said the sign is primarily black and white with minimal additional colors and recommended approval with two conditions. Commissioners noted an on-screen case-number discrepancy during the motion sequence but confirmed the Kitty Care case and approved the two staff recommendations. A motion to approve the variance was seconded and carried by roll call 7–0.

Next steps: applicant should submit a sign permit and meet the two conditions listed in the staff report.
