Supervisor of subsidy: state multiplier not a problem; senior assessment freeze limit raised to $75,000

Speaker 5 (Supervisor of Subsidy) told the committee the countys tentative multiplier and three-year average are within required thresholds and that the state multiplier will not be a concern this year.

He said the office sent about 5,400 notices and that 20 appeals are pending within the county with an additional seven review appeals. The supervisor noted the senior assessment freeze income limit was raised from $65,000 to $75,000 and that the office plans to send around 5,200 senior-assessment-freeze notices to residents aged 65 and older.

Staff changes and training were mentioned: one employee will begin classes and another will take a three-week overseas trip; the supervisor anticipated operations will remain on schedule during those absences.
