Village utilities staff presented a request to authorize a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) amendment and a construction-phase services task order to add High Pressure Pump 9 at Membrane Plant 2.
Miss Pance explained the plant currently has three nanofiltration membrane trains and that the expansion work underway will increase Membrane Plant 2 capacity; the inline spare pump would provide redundancy required by code so operators can shift flow to any train within minutes. She said major infrastructure for the pump (structure, pedestal, conduit and space) was built into the facility during original construction and that prior materials purchases had been approved by council.
Staff provided estimated project costs on the record: the GMP figure reported in the presentation was approximately $2.0 million including about $100,000 in owner-controlled contingency; separate construction-phase services by Kimberly Horne & Associates were noted at roughly $109,000. Staff said the project is included in the capital utilities plan and recommended approval. Council asked clarifying questions about project sequencing and remaining conversion steps; staff said two more projects remain to complete the full conversion.
