Commission approves consent calendar; committee advances contracts with UCSF, AI note‑capture and workforce software

Commissioner Chao presented the Finance & Planning Committee report, summarizing contract reviews and new recommendations. Committee business included two contract amendments to extend terms for San Francisco Health AIDS Foundation and YMCA programs, a new citywide contract related to UCSF affiliation for adolescent intensive outpatient mental health services (IOP), and three innovative new contracts: Comir Incorporated (AI‑assisted note capture requiring a six‑month acceptance review), Virtosoft (enterprise workforce and talent management for nursing, a five‑year $9.9M implementation), and a state‑funded program to support mandated jail health services for people found unable to stand trial.

The commission considered the consent calendar and separated two UCSF items for recusal handling. Motions to approve grouped consent items and the remaining items were moved, seconded and adopted by unanimous voice vote. The chair instructed Commissioner Salgado on filing a recusal notice for the UCSF items. The commission then moved into closed session to discuss the director’s evaluation and adjourned after closed session.

Commissioners asked clarifying questions about whether contracts covered outpatient IOP only or also post‑hospitalization programs; committee members clarified the contract under consideration was for the outpatient IOP and that subsequent PHP/inpatient elements would be incorporated later when ready.
