Committee approves targeted parking and traffic control changes

Scott Reinbacher of the Department of Public Works presented two connected items changing parking and traffic regulation across several neighborhoods.

For parking controls (file 251,390), DPW proposed a no-parking-anytime zone on the North Side of North Avenue between 58th Street and a point east, plus several new accessible parking spaces on the East Side and downtown. Reinbacher said all requests were coordinated with local aldermen and the ordinance passed without objection.

On traffic controls (file 251,391), DPW recommended installing two-way stop signs at multiple intersections including Crawford & 54th, Wilbur & 54th, Carmen & 73rd/74th, Concordia & Pierce, and Stark & 67th. Alderman Westmoreland moved passage and the committee approved the changes without objection.
