University Hill commission approves minutes, discusses recruitment and community liaison

The University Hill Commercial Area Management Commission approved the Nov. 25 meeting minutes by unanimous voice vote and reviewed several administrative items including recruitment for upcoming seat openings and community outreach.

Chair Ted Rockwell called for approval of the Nov. 25 minutes; a motion and second were recorded and the chair declared the motion unanimous. The transcript does not list a named mover or seconder and does not provide a numeric vote tally.

On recruitment, staff reported that applications are being received and that an open-house event was held with roughly "about 50 attendees," and that John Morris is reviewing applications as they come in. Commissioners urged continued outreach and asked one another to act as ambassadors to potential applicants. Danica Powell and other commissioners discussed eligibility for the business representative slot and confirmed that a property owner or a business tenant (with a sponsoring business letter) can serve in that capacity.

Staff and commissioners welcomed the liaison and encouraged future in-person participation.
