Board approves hire of IT director and several personnel actions

The Show Low School District board voted to approve an administrative hire for IT director and several other personnel actions during its January meeting.

Superintendent Dr. Farnsworth introduced a candidate for IT director with roughly 10 years’ experience implementing technology in school districts and local ties; the candidate was present in the audience. The superintendent recommended the board approve the hire, and a board member moved and seconded the motion. The motion passed by recorded voice vote.

The board also approved classified personnel employment items, including the addition of a dispatch position requested earlier for the transportation department, and approved classified transfers and resignations presented by staff. In certified personnel matters, the board recognized a teacher who plans to retire at the end of the school year and approved that retirement as presented.

Board members welcomed the IT candidate, thanked staff for the hires and noted the hires support transportation and instructional operations. No employment terms, compensation amounts or contract details were specified on the public record.
