District CFO says Skyward 'Cumulative' migration set for Feb. 9; trustees ask for enrollment clarification

The district's chief financial officer explained updates to the district's student information and finance system and answered trustees' questions about enrollment reporting.

Jessica (Grama/Grantham) told trustees the district must move to the cloud-based version of Skyward called "Cumulative," with a planned go-live date of Feb. 9. Trustees pressed for clarity on an apparent discrepancy in the enrollment and attendance snapshot: the report lists total enrollment as 4,626 but an attendance-related line shows 4,669. The CFO said she would check the calculation and suspected that pre-kindergarten counts (43 students shown in enrollment) or dual-credit/home-school reporting might explain the difference; she pledged to provide clarification at the next meeting.

Trustees also asked about the inclusion of operations updates in the CFO's report and whether directors (transportation, facilities) should appear more often in board meetings; the CFO said she meets weekly with operational directors and has been providing summaries to save directors’ time, but acknowledged trustees' desire to hear directly from department leaders periodically.

No budget decisions were adopted; the item was informational with a promise of follow-up detail.
