The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors presented resolutions recognizing three outgoing supervisors and heard brief remarks from each.
A resolution commending Philip N. Bozzani for 12 years of service as York District supervisor noted his roles as board chair and vice chair and his work on economic growth and removing tolls on the Coleman Bridge. Bozzani described his governing philosophy as conservative-libertarian and urged future board members to enact policies that benefit the many.
The board read a resolution for Kenneth W. Gibson, Petsworth District supervisor, recognizing initiatives to expand reliable internet, renovate Gloucester High School and improve school safety measures. Gibson thanked colleagues and encouraged cooperation with county leadership.
A resolution for Kevin M. Smith, at-large supervisor, referenced his 20 years of public service (including prior school-board service) and praised his leadership; Smith thanked staff and colleagues and said he planned to remain involved in the community.
Why it matters: The resolutions provide an official record acknowledging the public service of departing elected officials and mark an upcoming transition on the board.
What’s next: The resolutions will be spread upon the minutes and the board offered personal remarks and best wishes to the three supervisors.
