Village staff told the board on Jan. 6 that the public works and water departments completed 11 water‑line repairs for 2025 and have been addressing leaks and a leaking vacant building.
"I had a couple water line repairs, 1 on 144 and 1 on the dumpster. Had a total of 11 for 2025," Speaker 2 said during the water report. Board members then discussed whether that total was average for the system.
Staff member Susie walked through water and sewer billing deadlines and the penalty schedule: "So as of the seventh, which is tomorrow after that, water and sewer will receive another penalty. So please call the office if you're not sure how much the payment is." She noted the typical added charge is small for single‑unit accounts but will vary with usage and number of units.
Officials also reminded residents that the tentative assessment roll is available for review and that exemptions (senior/age‑based, veterans, volunteer fire exemption and limited solar exemptions) have specific application timelines; the village does not process STAR school tax exemptions. Staff urged anyone with questions to contact the clerk’s office before bills are finalized.
No policy action was taken during the meeting; staff provided guidance to residents and continued routine utility operations.
