Multi‑agency operation hits three local vape shops; evidence sent to state investigators

Chief Prusia told the Roads & Safety Committee on Jan. 8 that Stowe police participated in a coordinated multi‑agency operation on Dec. 17 that resulted in search warrants served at three area vape shops. "We served search warrants on 3 vape stores in Stowe... a large quantity of marijuana, other schedule 1 drugs, firearm, and cash were seized," the chief said. He added that the evidence is being processed by the Bureau of Criminal Investigations and that no arrests were made that day; the investigation will be months long and could result in charges and additional involvement by state agencies.

Law Director Riley thanked the police and prosecutors involved, described the operation as multi‑jurisdictional, and cautioned that some details cannot be discussed publicly while the investigation is active. He also called out that the county‑wide operation served 11 vape shops across the county on the same day.
