Gilliam County Court approves telephone and pipeline right-of-way requests, with one contingent on location correction

Gilliam County Court members approved two right-of-way applications during the Jan. 7 meeting.

A right-of-way application from Oregon Telephone Corporation to install telephone cable on Richmond Road was presented with a brief operational caveat to ensure crews dig in the correct place. Commissioner (S2) moved to approve the application "as presented" and the court voted unanimously to carry the motion.

The court also considered a right-of-way request from PFC Midstream for a 120/240‑volt underground service to a small building. Commissioners identified apparent errors in the township/range/section fields and instructed staff to require location verification. The court moved and seconded a contingent approval: the application is approved pending correction and verification of the location information, and the motion carried unanimously.

Both approvals were processed as routine right-of-way items; the court recorded motions, seconding and unanimous 'Aye' votes on both items. Staff will follow up to confirm corrected location data for the PFC Midstream application before finalizing the paperwork.
