Gratiot County board adopts 2026 rules, meeting schedule and fills multiple board seats

The Gratiot County Board of Commissioners approved a package of organizational items including adopting board rules for 2026, setting the 2026 meeting schedule and appointing members to several county advisory boards.

Resolution 26-348, adopting the board’s rules and regulations for 2026, was moved and approved after commissioners indicated no substantive changes to the draft. The board then approved Resolution 26-349, which sets the regular meeting dates for 2026 and retains the current meeting night to avoid conflicts with township election activities.

The board also approved appointments to several advisory bodies. Commissioners approved new members to the Airport Advisory Committee under Resolution 26-350 (motion by Commissioner Gay). Resolution 26-351 appointed members to the Gratiot County Land Bank Authority (names mentioned in the meeting included Todd [Muggenberg/Maughtenberg, transcript variant] and Jamie Khan). Resolution 26-352 appointed Greg Cooper to the Gratiot County Zoning Board of Appeals.

Roll-call votes were conducted for the motions and each passed. Commissioners asked for clarity on which boards require dual commissioner representation and discussed restoring the conservation district to the list of boards receiving county attention and outreach to local farmers.
