Votes at a glance: harbor fees, licenses, warrants, donations and appointments

At its January meeting, the Wells Select Board recorded a series of mostly procedural votes.

Key actions: the board approved the harbor fee package 5–0 (see separate article), granted a renewal for Brett Lord's beach shuttle business license (motion carried 5–0), accepted the resignation of a member of the Energy Advisory Committee and agreed to send a letter thanking him for his service, and accepted numerous donations to town accounts and the public library.

Financial warrants were approved: the board moved to sign a warrant dated 01/06/2026 for $1,247,763.31 and several advanced check warrants; one member abstained and the motion carried 4–0 with one abstention. The board also approved minutes of the Dec. 16, 2025 meeting (vote recorded as 4–0 with one abstention).

The board authorized an executive session under 1 M.R.S. §405(6)(A) to discuss applicants to various boards and committees and then approved term renewals for Caleb Chase and Deborah Weinberg to the WEMS board (motion carried; one absence recorded for that vote). Finally, the board moved and carried an adjournment vote.
