Cinnaminson board swears in newly elected members, elects Fitzwater president and Kenny vice president

The Cinnaminson Township Board of Education held its annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 6, 2026, swearing in three newly elected members and reorganizing leadership for the coming year.

The board announced results from the Nov. 4, 2025 school election: Mary Tadley received 3,850 votes, Michael Bramhall 3,791 and Robert W. McGough 3,764. The presiding official administered the oath of office to the newly elected members. During the oath, Michael Bramhall recited portions of the swearing-in, including the words "I, Michael Bramhall," as part of the ceremony.

Nominations for board president were opened and, after a nomination from the floor, Laura Fitzwater was elected board president by roll-call vote. The presiding officer announced the result: "THE BOARD APPROVES ... LAURA FITZWATER AS BOARD PRESIDENT." All members present recorded 'Aye' on the roll call for the motion.

The board then opened nominations for vice president. Ed Kenny was nominated and confirmed by the board in a subsequent roll-call vote; members present recorded 'Aye.'

The board presented and adopted the district mission statement for the organizational year, reaffirming that "all students will achieve the New Jersey student learning standards at all grade levels" and emphasizing partnership with families and the community. The presiding officer called for a voice vote and announced, "MISSION APPROVED."

Under organizational items (Section 6), the board approved personnel appointments and business-and-operations items listed on the agenda. The board approved the appointment of Melissa Wilkie as board secretary, as public agency compliance officer, and as the district purchasing agent, citing applicable statutory references noted in the agenda. The board took a roll-call vote on Section 6 items and recorded unanimous approval by the members present.

There were no public comments during the allotted comment period. The meeting adjourned following a motion, second and voice vote. Afterward, board members thanked attendees and invited families to remain for group photographs.

Actions recorded at the meeting included the swearing-in of newly elected members, election of the board president and vice president, adoption of the district mission statement, approval of organizational appointments (including Melissa Wilkie's appointments), and formal adjournment. The board did not enter executive session at this meeting.
