During the public-comment portion of the meeting, Jeff Ashmore introduced himself as "the president of the Pierce Creek shooting range committee" and told supervisors the range has been successful and primarily serves Page County residents.
Ashmore said the range has about 42 family memberships (which he estimated equates to roughly 38 individual members) and that about 95% of members are Page County residents and voters. He said membership fees to date have generated approximately $3,400 in revenue that has been forwarded to the Page County Conservation Board. Ashmore offered the board a list of members and their residencies and said the committee will support new conservation-board appointees and stay in communication with the conservation board.
Board members thanked Ashmore for his remarks and one supervisor asked county staff (Yvette) to copy the membership list. Ashmore’s comments were recorded during the public-comment period and did not prompt a board action other than acknowledgement and a staff follow-up request.
