Sheriff: county approves $3,500 policy-manual subscription and renews communications lease

Sheriff Darryl Wheeler told the board on Jan. 6 that the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office seeks approval to enter into an agreement with Law Enforcement Policy Center LLC to provide an Idaho policing policy manual for $3,500 annually. The sheriff said the policy constitutes an approved statewide model and will help the county respond to prior ICRAMP inquiries.

The sheriff also presented a confidential memorandum related to the renewal of a lease for a communications site used by county emergency services. He said the renewal is for $4,200; he indicated the site houses a GMRS repeater used by all emergency services.

Commissioners asked whether the lease language referencing Bonner County EMS was correct; the sheriff clarified the site is used by multiple emergency services and that communications access is shared. Motions to approve the policy-manual subscription and to accept and approve the lease agreement (with the chairman authorized to sign administratively) were made and approved by the board.
