Committee to Interview OMG and Newfields for Two School-Age Construction Projects

Unidentified Committee Chair called the meeting to order and confirmed a quorum before asking the committee to move into an executive session to review scoring for construction-manager proposals for Teachers Middle School and the Huntington Central Office/Adult Education projects.

Peter Gothard moved that the committee "interview OMG and Newfields for the construction manager position for, for Huntington and for teachers," a motion seconded by Christine D'Sazio. The chair told members that Downs's proposal had not responded to addendums 2 and 3 and was therefore deemed by staff to be nonresponsive, leaving OMG and Newfields as the two finalists under consideration.

Committee members discussed scheduling and logistical format; the chair said the committee would "shoot for January 8" and that interviews would be held both in person and via Zoom. The committee then voted; the motion to interview the two firms passed unanimously among members present and voting, the chair said.

The chair also recorded that Christine D'Estazio (alternate spelling appears in the record) and Mark Pulos entered the meeting during the executive session. The chair closed the meeting with a motion to adjourn, which carried, and the session ended at 7:16 p.m.

Next steps: the committee will proceed with interviews of OMG and Newfields on the date announced and will return to a regular session after the executive session; no votes were taken during the executive session, and any formal selection or contract award was not decided during the open portion of this meeting.
