Public commenters raise constitutional grievances and local concerns during Franklin County meeting

Several members of the public addressed the board during the Jan. 7 meeting. Michelle Andries read sections of the U.S. Constitution and argued that some recent local developments (including a claim about 529 Somali daycares) constitute an invasion; she urged the board to pursue constitutional remedies. Her remarks were curtailed by the three‑minute time limit.

George Dockstader of South Landing Road criticized the Chamber of Commerce for holding the Ag Hall of Fame dinner in Kennewick rather than Pasco, called the three‑minute public comment limit "garbage," and suggested reusing O9 funds to add safety turnouts on county roads such as Road 68 near Taylor Flats and Glade North.

The board thanked speakers and moved to other business; no formal action resulted from public comment.
