Superintendent search could be decided as board continues interviews, district says

The superintendent said the district's elected board is carrying out the search for a superintendent replacement and has completed at least one round of interviews, with additional rounds possible before the board makes a final decision.

"They're elected to hire the superintendent. That's their number one job," the superintendent said, describing the board's role and saying the trustees are "doing their due diligence." He added the district leadership is intentionally not involved in hiring decisions.

The superintendent noted an upcoming board meeting on January 12 where the board may make decisions related to the search, or they may schedule another round of interviews depending on the trustees' deliberations.
