The Milford City Planning & Zoning Commission approved a special permit with Coastal Area Management for a proposed manufacturing building at 668 New Haven Avenue in the Corridor Design District (CDD-4).
Attorney Chris Cody and engineer Mark Davis presented the proposal, describing a two-level metal building totaling approximately 12,480 square feet (6,240 sq ft per level). The site is just under two-thirds of an acre and includes wetlands along the rear property line and a section in FEMA AE flood zone; the applicant said the development will include stormwater treatment, hydrodynamic separation, and a retaining wall to keep development out of the flood zone. The applicant also said the project provides 18 dedicated parking spaces, including one accessible space.
A public hearing was opened and, with no public comment, closed. The commission approved the permit with conditions; the primary condition requires that any future occupant of the building obtain a tenant-fit zoning permit so staff can confirm the occupant’s operations conform to the zoning special-permit classification.
