Beaufort Oyster Festival returns Jan. 17–18 with restaurant week and kickoff events

The sixth annual Beaufort Oyster Festival, accompanied by the Ties to Tables restaurant week, runs through Jan. 18 with events across the Beaufort area, the county bulletin said.

A kickoff tasting event at The Tabby Place at the Beaufort Inn on Saturday, Jan. 10 will feature 15 area restaurants and an elevated tasting experience with an open bar. The festival itself takes place Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 17–18, at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park. Saturday’s schedule begins at 8:00 a.m. with the Oyster Boogie 5K; festival activities start at 10:00 a.m. and include fresh local oysters, a low country fair, local beer from Shell Ring Ale Works, area organizations and educators, live music and more running through 5:00 p.m.
